If you are from out of state and stay in Santa Fe definitely play Black Mesa. Even if you base out of ABQ it's worth the drive. The vistas are just beautiful. You'll feel like you're on the Santa Fe Trail. Mike Murphy Jul 3, 2008

Loved the course! We've played three times in Oct and each time was terrific. If you want to play a course that stimulates your game and your senses then this is the one.

This course is all about ball control. If you want to improve your game and have a great time come here. If you want easy try a muni (Marty Sanchez excluded) or a local in-town country club. In the fairway the ball is going to be above or below your feet; not many level spots. The greens are challenging with large transistions!

Each time the staff were were helpful and outstanding. It's like playing a country club without the expense. Plenty of time between groups so you never feel pressured. Definitly worth the drive! Don't forget the course book though. Even with the great GPS/pro tips in the cart the book is indespensible.

One of the great jewels of northern New Mexico - heck the southwest!

Wow! Black Mesa is worth a drive to take some drives. I couldnt find a fault except for my ham sandwich at the turn. I played the whites on the front and the way backs on the back and scored better on the back. The designer really scored on the landscape he had to work with. Visually satisfying and stimulating. I might not speak so well of the greens if they were playing over a 12 on the stimpmeter. Serious golfers should buy the guide and play to the pin positions. Larry Parsons Sep 27, 2007

Played Black Mesa in late September and was thrilled. Every hole presented a new challenge (blind t-shots, driveable par 4's, "launching pad" t-shots, Dramatic views). It is a drive to get there, but WELL worth the round.

The round did take 5 1/2 hours...which would have been a problem if it were not such a beautiful course and day...A MUST PLAY!
